We are cutting all our timber in Namibia state forests. We cut and sell mainly still upright standing dead trees. The trees died mainly because of fire damage and are at least five- ten years already dead. The thickness of each log varies from min.400mm-900mm diameter, with an average useable length of 3,0 meter. To harvest one m3 to prime timber in planks or blocks we have to process up to ten trees. The species we are cutting here are:
Rhodesian Teak (Baikiaea plurijuga)
African Rose Wood (Guibourtia coleosperma)
Kiaat (Pterocarpus angolensis) and varies acacia species in small quantities.
