What is
Microfiber ?
Microfiber is a blend of
polyester and polyamide that is used in a variety of applications. You
can find microfiber in cloths, cleaning products and furnishings.
Microfiber is available in several different production types, each
providing its own features and benefits. All styles can be used with or
without chemicals. Chemicals will not harm the microfiber but are
usually unnecessary.
Microfibre cleaning products are fairly new and revolutionary in most parts of the world. However,
for many years Europeans have enjoyed the benefits of microfiber based
cleaning products.
Unlike ordinary cleaning products, that only move or push
dirt and dust from one point to another, microfiber cleaning products
lift the dirt from the surface and store the particles in the cloth
until it is washed. When it is placed in a warm to hot wash, the fiber
opens up and releases the dirt into the water. Heavy dirt will be
released from the microfiber with the assistance of a laundry detergent
in the water.

is 80% polyester and 20% polyamide
There are several microfiber based products available on the
market. In order to understand which microfiber products are
most efficient and cost effective there are 3 criteria and
elements that you need to be aware of:
The blend of polyester and polyamide is important when
buying microfiber. A microfiber cleaning product that is 80%
polyester & 20% polyamide has the right blend for a long
wearing product that will not compromise the absorbency
capacity.
Polyamide makes the fiber more absorbent but will wear
easily. If you buy a product that has too much Polyamide in
the fiber mix, you will not get a very long lifespan out of
your product.
Polyester is strong, long wearing but not very absorbent. So
if you buy a microfiber cloth that contains too much
polyester in the mix, its lack of absorbency will reduce the
effectiveness of the cloth. |

Microfiber is super absorbent. Absorbing over 7 times its
weight in water. Microfiber towels dry in one third of the time ordinary towels take
to dry.

Microfiber cleaning cloths will clean virtually any
soiling from any surface. They are longer lasting than other cleaning
products and contain more fibres per square inch.
Microfiber cloths and mops when used with regular tap
water are 99.94% more effective in removing bacteria from smooth
surfaces. A bacterial culture taken after a traditional wet mop cleaning
showed only a 30% reduction to precleaning. The bacterial culture taken
after the microfiber mop cleaning showed a 99% reduction.
Microfiber cleaning cloths are lint free and
